A Spoiler-Light Guide to the Political Regions of Teloshka
By P. S. Davis · Posted June 2026 · 11 minute read
Teloshka is divided by geography, faith, history, trade, and old blood. The West and the East do not organise themselves in quite the same way, which can make the politics difficult to follow at first.
This guide is intended to help readers understand the major regions, cities, seats of power, and public representatives without revealing hidden loyalties, deaths, betrayals, or later political turns. It describes public structures and broad associations, not every secret at work beneath them.

A note on the West
Historically, Aurenvia and Tollitch were treated as separate western regions. By the time of the main Essence Wars sequence, they are generally understood together as Aurenvia Tollitch. This political identity does not fully encompass the North, Zerthys, or Roydne, though each sits within the wider western political orbit in different ways. Roydne remains one of the newest and most difficult western establishments to recognise formally.
The West is politically centred on Aurenvia Tollitch, but its wider orbit includes newer settlements, contested borderlands, the independent-minded North, and the Kingdom of Zerthys.
Aurenvia Tollitch
Political capital: Haithe
Primary political seat: Castle of Haithe
Political body: The Order of Aurenvia Tollitch
Known public role: Largest western political establishment in Teloshka
Aurenvia Tollitch is the great western political power, formed from the historical union of Aurenvia and Tollitch. It is not a single city-state, but a vast political structure of regions, castles, towns, coastal powers, religious centres, and old alliances. The Order of Aurenvia Tollitch meets in Haithe and serves as the governing council of the western lands.
Haithe
Region: Aurenvia
Primary seat: Castle of Haithe
Known political importance: Political capital of Aurenvia Tollitch
Known associated figures: Lord Paramount Chalm of Haithe, Dharl Bodwin, Marcius Saylong
Haithe is the political heart of the West. Its castle, great hall, Central Quarters, and noble residences place it at the centre of Order politics. It is the place where the West’s wider decisions are argued, delayed, sharpened, and finally acted upon.
Keis, Hayn’s Town, and Mermard’s Town
Region: Tollitch
Primary seat: Keis’s Castle
Known political association: Protected under Keis
Known representative: Brigetta Keis
Keis, Hayn’s Town, and Mermard’s Town function as a united region under the protection and influence of Keis. Keis’s Castle is one of the great western strongholds, with military and political weight far beyond its walls.
Hawn’s Keep
Region: Aurenvia Tollitch
Primary seat: Hawn’s Keep
Known representative: Xania of Hawn’s Keep
Hawn’s Keep is a separate western entity with its own political weight. Its power is less about territory alone and more about influence, intelligence, wealth, and careful positioning within the Order.
Armekalia
Region: Aurenvia Tollitch
Primary seat: Armekalia
Known representative: Mortas Lexx
Known character: Two large coastal cities with a fierce naval tradition, represented by commanders such as Lewisear Lexx and Halicern warships such as The Sorthalix
Armekalia is one of the strongest maritime powers in the West. It is famed for its navy, its coastal strength, and its willingness to act where other regions debate. Its representatives carry the interests of Armekalia into the Order, though its true power is often felt at sea.
Talill
Region: Aurenvia Tollitch
Primary seat: Talill
Known representative: Erastus of Talill
Known character: Intelligence, secrecy, old networks
Talill is most publicly associated with Erastus and his network of information. Its role in the Order is less visibly military and more strategic, relying on spies, whispers, private channels, and knowledge gathered from places others cannot reach.
Lenne
Region: Aurenvia Tollitch
Primary towns and lands: Lenne, Lucarion, Cassarish, Brayre’s Farm
Known representative: Lady Vera of Lenne
Known associated figures: Allturna Vehzar, Merjhan Vehzar
Lenne is a large southern region of the Order, with Lucarion, Cassarish, and Brayre’s Farm falling within its wider sphere. It provides a substantial southern presence within Aurenvia Tollitch and is closely tied to religious conviction, political ambition, and regional pride.
Lucarion
Region: Lenne, Aurenvia Tollitch
Known political building: The Copper Hall
Known associated figure: Governor Dubaris
Lucarion is one of the key southern cities of the West. Its Copper Hall stands as a major civic and political building, while its position near Roydne and the southern coast gives it strategic importance.
Roydne
Region: Southwestern coast
Capital: Roydne City
Known representatives: Sherptarl of Roydne and Ganflide of Roydne
Known character: Trade, coastal wealth, piracy, rebellion, and uneasy recognition
Roydne is one of the newest western establishments tied to the Order. Its wealth comes from trade, seafaring, and coastal commerce, but its politics have long been complicated by piracy, loose governance, and resentment toward Aurenvia Tollitch. The Roydne-Aurenvia Tollitch Pact was intended to limit pirate activity and draw Roydne more firmly into the western political order, yet many within the region remain divided over what that loyalty should mean. Roydne City, its capital, is the southernmost known city in Teloshka.
Citadel of Jemyne
Region: Western lands
Primary seat: Citadel of Jemyne
Known representative: Uterra
Known character: Law, order, restraint
The Citadel of Jemyne is a western political and legal centre associated with strict order. Its voice within the Order tends toward caution, stability, and mediation rather than zeal or conquest.
Jolda, Skaldrith, and Skogfell
Region: Western woodland territories
Primary seat: Jolda
Associated settlements: Skaldrith and Skogfell
Known representative: Lady Gray of Jolda
Jolda is a city entwined with the forest and protected by natural defences. It covers or politically shelters Skaldrith and Skogfell, giving it a broad woodland identity. Its rulers once sought sovereignty, but Jolda ultimately came under the wider protection of Aurenvia Tollitch.
Alrece Town
Region: Aurenvia Tollitch
Primary seat: Alrece Town
Known representative: Hugo of Alrece
Known character: Religious influence and local western identity
Alrece Town is a western settlement with a voice in the Order through Hugo of Alrece. Its public identity is strongly tied to faith and regional representation, rather than direct military command.
Orynbeck
Region: Northern Aurenvia Tollitch
Primary seat: Orynbeck
Known representative: Paldine
Known associated figure: Kaedryn Harth by upbringing
Orynbeck is a quiet northern village within Aurenvia Tollitch. It is not one of the great centres of power, but it matters through its local leadership, its place in the Order, and its connection to lives shaped far from the grand chambers of Haithe.
The North
Region: North of the Madita River and surrounding tribal lands
Known representative: Ramcino
Known associated figures: Deyra Fjornskara, Troraim, Rysna Rawno
Known character: Tribal strength, old rivalries, fierce independence
The North is not simply another part of Aurenvia Tollitch. It is a collection of tribes, villages, rivalries, and alliances with its own identity. Some northern figures seek recognition within the wider western structure, though the North remains proud, difficult to govern, and deeply shaped by memory.
Kingdom of Zerthys
Capital: Zerthys
Known ruler: King Yuspe
Known representative: Oran
Known character: Vast northern kingdom, warrior culture, old treaty ties
Zerthys is a major western-aligned kingdom, though it should not be treated as simply another Aurenvian or Tollitchian district. It is linked to the West through treaty, history, and political representation, while retaining its own monarchy and identity.
The Eastern Union is not organised like Aurenvia Tollitch. Its regions are larger, older, and more formally federated, with power shared through the Council of the Eastern Accord.
The Eastern Union
Political centre: Gusia City
Primary political body: Council of the Eastern Accord
Primary council building: Gusia City’s Accord Chamber
Known character: Federation-like union of large eastern regions
The Eastern Union is not organised like Aurenvia Tollitch. Its regions are larger, older, and more formally federated. Power is shared through the Council of the Eastern Accord, though not always equally. The East is bound by Yesdelism, trade, military coordination, and shared fear of western aggression, yet each region guards its own interests.
The Gainfolds
Capital: Gusia City
Political seat: Accord Chamber, Gusia City
Major landmark: The Eastern Spire
Known representative: Arlen Velthar, High Steward of the Accord
Known character: Political heart of the Eastern Union
The Gainfolds form the administrative and political centre of the Eastern Union. Gusia City is one of the largest and most influential cities in Teloshka, home to the Council of the Eastern Accord and the institutions that hold the Union together. Its wealth, scale, and central position make it powerful, though that dominance also breeds resentment.
Fone
Capital: Khartrim
Known representative: Sylvara Cathen, Marshal of the Greenhold
Known military force: Knights of the Greenhold
Known character: Defensive strength, agriculture, road control, and protection of the Union’s inner routes
Fone is a major eastern region whose importance lies in defence, food, roads, and military discipline. Its Knights of the Greenhold are famous for guarding the critical routes between Elanwyn and the rest of the Eastern Union, especially the passages that once protected access to the Herastium Fields.

Known character: Vast northern kingdom, Herastium wealth, contested power
Elanwyn is a massive northern kingdom within the Eastern Union’s political world. Domen is its capital and the seat of the Palace of Krio, while Rolinsiamon stands as one of the great northern cities. Elanwyn’s importance is inseparable from the Herastium Fields and the rare materials they produce. Its distance from the southern heart of the Union gives it both value and vulnerability.
Northmarch
Region: Elanwyn
Known representative: Lady Elyth Draemir
Known character: Northern power base within Elanwyn
Northmarch is not the whole of Elanwyn, but it is one of its most important internal powers. Its influence is military, noble, and political, giving Lady Elyth Draemir a strong public position beyond her role at the Eastern Accord.
Realm
Capital: Devantondie
Known representative: Lord Krasmay D’Velthon, Warden of the Falcon Watch
Known character: Island nation, naval strength, coastal defence
Realm is the only island nation within the Eastern Union’s political structure. Its capital, Devantondie, is a major eastern city, and its position gives Realm a distinct naval identity. It guards its autonomy carefully and often views mainland politics through the lens of security, sea power, and survival.
Verdathisa
Major city: Jonika
Major military site: Garette Fort
Major waters: Ihrlime Sea
Known representative: Maedras Ilvare, Warden of the Southern Reach
Known character: Food production, southern defence, river and sea trade
Verdathisa is famed for food production, fertile lands, and its relationship with the sparkling waters of the Ihrlime Sea. Jonika is one of its most important towns, while Garette Fort is a vital military site. Verdathisa often sits where trade, food, defence, and war collide.

Known military figures: General Thalrice Arondar, Edran Valtir, Captain of the Shadow Guard
Known character: Largest protected eastern landmass, military strength, Yesdelist scholarship
Lirioneth is one of the most protected and strategically important lands in the East. By land mass alone, it is the largest of the eastern mainland regions, protected by the Ihrlime Sea to the west and harsh desert to the east. The Citadel of Aliztar serves as its capital, military centre, and symbolic heart. The Silver Assembly operates from the Hall of Arms, and the Chancellor’s influence reaches far beyond Lirioneth’s borders.
